Aleksandra writes, “I am delighted to have been awarded the 2023 J.A. Woollam Company Scholarship from the SVC Foundation. I want to express my sincere gratitude for funding this Scholarship.”
“I am currently a Research Master’s student in Materials Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, working in the Functional Coating and Surface Engineering Laboratory (FCSEL) under the supervision of Prof. Ludvik Martinu and Prof. Jolanta Klemberg-Sapieha. I will soon undertake a doctoral program within this research group.”
“Physical vapor deposition techniques play a major role in my current research project on transparent flexible electrodes. I am investigating novel hybrid materials which, combined with transparent conductive oxides prepared via high-energy-per-particle deposition processes such as magnetron sputtering, give rise to enhanced optoelectronic performance. Characterizing these thin films via ellipsometry allows me to better understand the relationship between the structure of materials and their properties and predict how a small parameter change can affect their behavior. Therefore, having been recognized by J.A. Woollam Company is particularly significant to me, and I wish to thank you again for such great support. I am thrilled to have been awarded so early in my career, and I look forward to continuing my research in thin film optics.”
