2022 J.A. Woollam Company Scholarship awarded to Sarah Nahar Chowdhury at Purdue University
Sarah says “I am extremely happy and grateful to learn that I am a recipient of the J.A. Woollam Company Scholarship. I am writing to thank you for your generous financial support towards my academics and research. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University and conducting research at Birck Nanotechnology Center. My research includes material synthesis, characterization and tailoring of optical properties. Vacuum coating technologies like physical vapor deposition (PVD), pulsed laser deposition (PLD), magnetron sputtering, and atomic layer deposition (ALD) plays a significant role in all my projects. Your financial generosity has allowed me to be one step closer to my goal of excelling in my academic career and I would like to sincerely thank you again for helping me seek a path of applying vacuum technologies for pioneering applications.”
