2022 J.A. Woollam Company Scholarship awarded to Kamal Rudra at University of Michigan
Kamal is a student at the University of Michican and says “I am working towards the realization of efficient micro-LEDs for displays and AR/VR technologies. I have been fascinated by the research in the fields of Semiconductors and Photonics since sophomore year during my undergraduate degree and I believe that the experience gained through multiple internships at IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Kharagpur and CSIR-CEERI Pilani, has helped me to delve deeper into the field. My long term research at NIT Allahabad and CeNSE, IISc Bangalore helped me grow as a researcher. I will continue to work on myself and be a better researcher and human being!”
Kamal says “I wish to express my heartiest gratitude to J.A. Woollam Company and the SVC Foundation for enabling me to carry on my research endeavors and chase my goal of making significant a contribution to the field of Semiconductors and Nanotechnology. Currently, I am a master’s student and getting this award at such an early stage of my career makes it even more special and acknowledges my consistent efforts and I feel truly honored.”
