Jannatul says “I am writing to thank you for awarding me Bernard Henry AIMCAL-SVC Scholarship. It is an honor for me to have been selected as the recipient of the scholarship. I am a 4th year Ph.D. student in the Materials Science and Engineering department at the University of Central Florida. I work under the supervision of Dr. Kristopher Davis to develop high-quality passivating carrier selective contacts (CSC) for crystalline silicon solar cells. Passivating CSC is a very thin layer of material that enhances the efficiency of solar cells by reducing recombination losses. My current research involves the fabrication of thin poly-Si and metal oxides (i.e., Al2Ox, TiOx) passivating CSC using different vacuum coating technologies. I investigate the process-structure-properties relationship of these contacts using different optical, electrical, and materials characterization techniques and optimize the process conditions.”
“Thank you again for showing interest in my research and awarding me this generous scholarship. This will not only support my research financially but also inspire and motivate me to pursue my research goals.”
