2020 Jane & Frank Warchol Scholarship
The 2020 Jane & Frank Warchol Scholarship is awarded to Simone Rodrigues.
Simone is a Ph.D. student from Portugal studying Materials Engineering at University of Coimbra. During her PhD, she has been using a semi-industrial magnetron sputtering chamber to deposit and optimize WS2 coatings doped with C and F using a reactive mixture with the goal to tune tribological properties.
Simone says, “I feel glad to be recognized by the SVC Foundation for the work I have been developing over the last 5 years. It truly means that whenever we do our best effort, the recognition will come around.”
